School can only give one so much. It is up to the individual to put this information to use and develop their own style. Lighting can be taught, but it is up to the photographer or artist (if they really want to learn) to see how the greats apply the use of light. The same goes for composition. This gallery contains a selection of photos I generated between 1975 - 1977 while I was at Brooks Institute of Photography.

New York City in the late 70’s and early 80’s was in some ways very different from the New York of today, but in many ways very much the same. This blog and series of photos is intended to give a feel for what New York City looked like during that period through my experience. The photos are a collection of street images I took during this period. I was more interested in design, lighting, the vitality and diversity of the city rather than trying to make a social statement.

Three of my images have been short listed in recent The Motif Collective international fine art photography competitions. An image titled “Journey to the End of the Road” was included in the September 2017 Black & White themed online competition. Two images titled “123” and “Windows to Other Worlds” were included in the October 2017 Minimalism themed competition.

Two of my photographic images were recently short listed in the july 2017 monthly competition on The Motif Collective online International Fine Art Photography gallery.

Three of my prints are included in an upcoming exhibition at the North Gwinnett Arts Association Center for the Arts. The art gallery is located at 3930 Charleston Market Street in Suwanee Town Center, Suwanee, Georgia. The exhibition opens with a reception on March 22nd, 2017, 5:00 - 7:00 PM and runs through May 20th. The gallery is open 9:00AM - 5:00PM, Monday through Thursday and 9:00AM - 7:00PM, Friday and Saturday.
